Winning the 2024 Apprentice Champion Award has been an amazing experience and something I’ll never forget. It’s a real honour to be recognised at a national level so early in my career, and it’s given me a huge boost in confidence to keep pushing myself in the trade. I’ve been lucky to work with such a supportive team at Macu Kitchens, who’ve backed me from day one and helped me grow not just in my skills, but also as a person. This award really shows how important it is to have people who believe in you. A big thanks to the Trades Small Business Champion Awards for recognising apprentices—it means a lot to know that the hard work we put in is seen and celebrated. I’m proud to represent young tradies and excited for what’s ahead.

Being awarded the 2024 Small Business Champion Trades Entrepreneur was a surprise that left me speechless and touched my heart. The exposure for my business since winning this award has been significant. This year marks 35 years of Pasticceria Papa and I am still as passionate and dedicated to my business and the products we produce as the day I started. Things have not always been easy - countless early mornings and late nights, but they paid off and it is an honour to be recognised.
