- To be eligible to enter the awards, your business must first comply with the following: Retail or Service business with 40 employees or less.
- Eligibility is based on the number of equivalent full-time positions within the business. (80 staff who work half a week each, is equal to 40 full time positions).
- Business may enter only one industry category.
- Businesses may enter only one optional Professional Entrepreneur award category.
- Businesses may enter the optional Leader award categories.
- Businesses in the New Business category must be in operation for less than 2 years.
- Each application will be entered in only one industrycategory.
- Entries may be transferred to another category if the judges believe an entrant would be more appropriately assessed in that category.
- Judges have the right to either create additional categories or delete categories, depending on entries received.
- An independent judging panel from a variety of industries will judge all entries.
- Judges have the right to either accept or decline entries as finalists and this will be determined by an initial grading of entries based on the responses to the criteria questions.
- All Judges' score sheets and notes will be destroyed on the determination of finalists and winners. Judges' comments are confidential and will not be disclosed.
- The decision of the judging panel is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
- Businesses must operate in Australia and hold a current ABN number.
- Entries are catalogued and are treated in confidence.
- Information provided by the business may be used for promotional purposes. Information that is confidential must be clearly marked.
- In the situation of a change in business name, every effort will be made to accommodate, however, there will be no guarantees due to the program's requirements.
- Precedent Productions and Award Partners have access to the entire finalist database and may use this at their discretion.
- Entries must be provided via the online entry form.
- Entries will not be accepted via email or mail.
- Once entries have been submitted, information cannot be changed or added.
- Precedent Productions and the partners of the awards accept no liability regarding any loss of patent rights or commercial returns arising from participating in the Australian Small Business Professionals Champion Awards.
- The Young Entrepreneur must be 30 years of age and under to be eligible.
- Entry is free.
- Precedent Productions takes no responsibility for the publishing of information in media outlets and websites.
- All entries must include a photograph for each category entered.
- Winners will be announced at the presentation evening and the trophy only be accepted on stage by the owners or managers of the business.
- Should a winning business be unavailable to attend the presentation evening, the Champions trophy will be available to be collected at your cost from the Precedent Productions office within two weeks of the presentation evening. Alternatively, a cost of $250.00 will be incurred for the postage + handling of the winning trophy and promotional material.
- Businesses not in attendance may not have their name called out and shown on the big screen during the presentation.
- Tickets sold by Precedent Productions pursuant to you using this Site are sold by Precedent Productions who are responsible for the relevant event and all parties are subject to the conditions of the "Precedent Productions Online Terms of Use". The tickets are also sold subject to the following terms and conditions (Points 31 - 34):
- No refunds or exchanges on any ticket except where and to the extent that laws of the region of purchase provide otherwise. If a refund is made, Precedent Productions may retain any service or like fee it has charged.
- The right is reserved to add, withdraw reschedule or substitute artists and/or vary advertised programs, prices, venues, seating arrangements and audience capacity.
- Entry may be refused if no proof of purchase is presented at the event.
- GST will apply to all goods and services supplied through this Site. Prices in this Site include GST where applicable.
- Precedent Productions reserves the right to accept entries as finalists that have adequately answered the Business Assessment questions.
Terms and Conditions
Professionals Champion Masters - Terms & Conditions
- Every business that enters the 2026 Australian Professionals Small Business Champion Awards is eligible to become a Professionals Champion Master.
- Six Professional Champion Masters, who are the owners of the businesses, will be selected. Where the ownership of the business is a partnership, one person will be nominated to represent the business.
- All six Professional Champion Masters will be of equal merit.
- One will be selected to receive the 6 Days’ Singapore Business Experience.
- Winner of the experience must have a current passport and be able to travel for six days during the last week of November 2026 or the first week of December 2026.
- Business owner must attend the presentation evening to collect their Professionals Champion Master prize.
- All Champion Awards criteria answers of the entry will form part of the selection.
- Judges are looking for originally written entries and the following:
- Quality of answers
- Evidence of business success
- Business innovation
- Potential for future growth
- The judging panel will consist of award partners, accountants and professional businesspeople.
- Winner of the 6 Days’ Singapore Business Experience will be announced on 7th November at the 2026 Australian Professionals Small Business Champion Awards presentation evening.
- Winner of the 6 Days’ Singapore Business Experience could provide an on-stage review at a following Champions presentation evening.
- The prize is non-refundable and cannot be taken as a cash prize.
- All six Professional Champion Masters will become exclusive members of the Champion Masters Club for Small Business.
- All decisions are final and no disclosure regarding the final selection of Professionals Champion Business Masters will be provided.
