How It Started

The Australian Small Business Champion Awards originated in 1999 as the NSW Small Business Champion of Champion Awards, which were successful in recognising the most outstanding businesses from the state of New South Wales. In 2007, the program expanded to recognise the achievements of outstanding small businesses from all states and territories across Australia, and the Australian Small Business Champions Awards program was conceived.


Developed and managed by Precedent Productions, a small business in its own right with 30 years’ experience in managing successful awards programs, the Australian Small Business Champions Awards have grown into the flagship program recognising Australian Small Business excellence.


The Australian Small Business Champion Awards is a prestigious and comprehensive program that supports and recognises small businesses across Australia.


Offering a unique opportunity to highlight Australia's most outstanding small businesses, the awards seek to recognise the hard work that business owners contribute to the local community in generating employment for millions of Australians, as well as their contribution to the Australian economy.

Being recognised as the 2024 Small Business Champions Young Entrepreneur of the Year was such an incredible experience for both myself and my team. For the longest time, our creative industry of tattoo artistry has not gained the recognition it deserves as a professional career. I was able to proudly accept this award as a young creative female that would often be overlooked as a professional businesswoman and entrepreneur.
